The big problem of smartphones (and we all experienced it) it is definitely the fragility of their screen. It is often enougha simple fall to break the glass into pieces ... and force you to send your smartphone for repair. So yes, there are hulls that protect pretty well, but they do not always prevent the screen from breaking. And between us, the most effective hulls are far from being the most aesthetic.
Fortunately, a young German student has just invented a surprising alternative: the first smartphone airbag. His name is Philip Frenzel, he studies at Aalen University and he invented the first airbag directly integrated into a hull. The latter is capable of detect when the phone is falling in order to deploy thin slats who will bend to preserve your phone. The system was filmed by a German media and we must admit that all this seems very effective despite a design that will take some time to refine to further reduce its size.
Currently, the invention of Philip Frenzel is still under study. It is only a prototype, but the student intends to commercialize his invention, which should soon own patent as well as its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. A young millionaire in power when we know the extent of the smartphone market and a great idea that should make the happiness of the most clumsy !
An idea that will undoubtedly also remind fans of marketing, this idea of Honda who had already imagined a few years ago a real airbag for smartphone. The idea was more of a "marketing joke" but the concept obviously remains very inspiring !
